Shirring on the sleeves creates a voluminous silhouette with a three-dimensional feel, as if it were padded. The white recycled nylon is dyed with rice, and the black with charcoal, and then rice-shaped pearls are hand-embroidered one by one, creating a look as if rice has been spilled.

Perhaps the reason freshly cooked white rice glistens is because it is a grain of life. Hand-sewing each grain of rice is akin to a prayer to not waste that life. Perhaps this garment questions our very attitude towards our daily meals.
