SPILLED RICE BOMBER JACKET: WHITE

Shirring on the sleeves creates a voluminous silhouette with a three-dimensional feel, as if it were padded. Recycled nylon is dyed using rice for white and charcoal for black, and then rice-shaped pearls are hand-embroidered one by one, creating the impression of spilled rice.

Perhaps freshly cooked white rice appears to glow because each grain is a grain of life. Hand-sewing each grain of rice is akin to a prayer to not waste that life. Perhaps this garment questions our very attitude towards our daily meals.
